As early as 1995 one realised that the original site would be complicated to develop. MSTV had found a site on the old SNCF line that linked Chars to Magny en Vexin. Alas, once again, when it came time to apply for planning permission and after clearing 3.5 km of this line, and obtaining 2.6 M euros, political trends changed. The project had to be abandoned.

After 20 years of research and 13 projects studied, the MTVS discovered the section of the old Beauvais - Amiens line, linking Crèvecœur-le-Grand to Saint-Omer-en-Chaussée, closed in 1990.
Crèvecœur-le-Grand railway station provided a link between the Nord line and then the SNCF and the metre gauge "tortillard" to Saint-Just en Chaussée and Estrées-Saint-Denis.
It has many scenic and bucolic features, with a 12 km route, a wide right of way for the double track, a 30 kg per metre rail, the presence of buildings and engineering structures. A greenway could be built on the side of the railway line.
After signing an agreement in 2013, the MTVS moved to the Crèvecœur-le-Grand site. Volunteers began to rehabilitate a 3.5 km section of track, which was upgraded to metre gauge towards Rotangy.
To date, a further 800 metres of track has been laid up to the boundary of the communities of communes in preparation for the extension, estimated for 2023, at a rate of 1,200 metres per year.
