The Culture of Macael is carved with mallet and chisel.
This culture is reflected in its gastronomy, its streets and its people.
The beauty of the white marble from its quarries, exploited since Roman times, is present in countless monuments throughout history, such as Itálica, La Alhambra, the Palacio del Escorial, or the Royal Palace. The stonemasons / artisans of Macael have been transmitting their knowledge from father to son, without interruption, at least since the 9th century. Currently Macael and its area of influence make up a cluster specialized in stone, internationally recognized.
