The site of the St Clair water company, located in Caluire et Cuire on the right bank of the Rhône, originally formed a large complex of which remains:

Neoclassical building
This building houses the engine as well as an exhibition room displaying hydraulic equipment from different eras and iconography in the field of water and sanitation.

Protected historic building
The water company, property of the Lyon Urban Community, has been listed as a Regional Heritage Site since 1988.
The Lyon Cornish pump has been a listed National Heritage Site since 1991.

The Cornish pump in Lyon operated until 1910 and the catchment basins until 1976.
