Brewery Verhaeghe Vichte is a small family-owned brewery, founded in 1885 by Paul Verhaeghe. At the outbreak of the first war, he responded to the call of the Belgian Government to resist the German occupation economically by stopping the production. This was responded in turn by the Germans by the dismantling the brewery. After the war new production equipment was installed. This is still existing and used today.

It is still producing the typical red-brown beer of West Flanders, matured in oak casks and brewed according to an ancient method.

In 2012 the brewery was protected as a historic monument.
